If you have relaxed enough and want to explore the area, there is plenty to do.

The coastal footpath is at the bottom of the garden and Peddars Way is further inland.  The beaches are beautiful at Brancaster, Scolt Head and Holkam.

The views from Barrow Common are spectacular and popular with artists and photographers.  There are many exhibitions and courses throughout the year.

If you are a watersports fan the area is perfect for sailing, kiting and sea kayaking.  There are boat trips to Scolt Head Island and to see the seals.  On dry land there are local facilities to play golf, tennis and cycle.

For culture, Holkham Hall Estate is a short drive away.  You can visit the Hall, walk in The Park, go for a cruise on the Lake and see the Walled Gardens Restoration Project.

After a busy day out and about you won’t have to go far for refreshments.  Deepdale Café offers breakfast through to afternoon tea.  The White Horse is just along the main road and serves food from 9 am to 9 pm, while The Jolly Sailors near the harbour has a play area for children and serves food from 12 noon – 9 pm with a late take-away pizza service until 10.45 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
